The Superman of IFK Goteborg has continued to impress in Sweden and what is now desperately needed for the hard working midfielder is a bigger platform on which to prove his undeniable class.
Last season, Goteborg barely stayed up in the Swedish top flight no thanks to the various managerial changes at the club.
‘Hasse’ played 29 league matches, 28 as a starter while compiling some amazing stats in the process.
“If there is anyone who can play 120 minutes, 120 minutes and 120 minutes, Alhassan Yusuf is one of them”, remarked coach Poya Asbaghi.
“You should not take him for granted, but it is clear that has more stamina than a normal players does at this level.”
“I know I’ve run a lot, but that’s my strength, so I just have to keep going!” the player himself responded.
“It is clear that you are tired sometimes, but you just have to keep going. Make sure the team win the match – then you can relax.”
He has remained consistent this season, just as speculations about his future continue to trail him.
The one-time Young Player of the Year in Sweden has been linked to clubs in the Premier League and Belgium.
After this season, ‘Hasse’ still has a year left on his contract with Goteborg.
“There have been some clubs that have been interested,” he said in a recent interview.
“If I am going to move, it should be something that is really good for me and IFK Goteborg.
“But now I am here and my focus is that we will be a top team this year.”
