Kenneth Omeruo has hailed the sharpness of Sadiq Umar in front of goal as the battle for promotion to La Liga has gathered steam.
Omeruo was the hero when he scored the late winner for CD Leganes to edge past UD Almeria, who went in front through Sadiq Umar in a rescheduled Segunda Division clash Wednesday.
But even in victory, Super Eagles defender Omeruo said Sadiq, who was named La Liga 2 Player of the Month of January, has a bright future.
“He’s a good striker, who knows his way to goal and he takes his chances – he got one chance against us and he converted it,” Omeruo remarked.
“He is also difficult to mark, he’s a top striker and was named best player in the league last month…. he has an amazing future.”
The former Nigeria U23 star has netted 12 goals for third-placed Almeria thus far.
