SCORENigeria has reliably learnt that official announcement by the NFF of various national team coaching appointments has been delayed because of an impasse as it concerns who will be the next coach of the country’s U17 team, the Golden Eaglets.
SCORENigeria has already broken the news that Abdu Maikaba will be the new coach of the Flying Eagles, the country’s U20s, to be assisted by Abdullahi Biffo.
However, who will succeed Manu Garba as coach of the Golden Eaglets has been a vexed issue, while a decision has yet to be made as it regards the new coach of the U23s.
There has been a serious clash of interests involving “very powerful” stakeholders as it concerns who will lead the Golden Eaglets.
It now appears to be a straight battle between Beyond Limits coach Olumide Ajibolade and his Sporting Lagos counterpart Ebobo Uwejamomere with their backers not open to a compromise.
There is even a suggestion for that position to be jointly held by the two young coaches, an official informed SCORENigeria
