Terem Moffi’s transfer will give KV Kortrijk more than half of their 14 million Euros annual budget, it has been revealed.
This will be one of the biggest piece of business that KV Kortrijk have done after they paid a mere $150,000 Euros to Lithuanian club FK Riteriai in January only to sell him to French Ligue 1 club Lorient for eight million Euros this week.
Het Nieuwsblad reported that Moffi is only the tenth player to bring in more than a million Euros to the modest Belgian club.
The record sale for the club before now was back in 2018, when Youcef Atal left for OGC Nice for three million Euros.
A few months later, Thomas Kaminski moved to KAA Gent for about two million Euros.
Another local transfer of Adam Marusic to KV Oostende (two million Euros) and from Ivan Santini to Standard (1.6 million Euros) also brought Kortrijk much-needed cash.
Moffi’s former club, FK Riteriai, will now be a million Euros richer from this transfer.
Kortrijk first rejected Lorient bid of five million Euros, then seven million Euros, before they finally accepted eight million Euros, according Het Laatste Nieuws.
The Belgian club will also be smiling to the bank again with a special bonus should Moffi play half of his new team’s matches.
They are in addition entitled to 20% of a subsequent transfer.
However, the jackpot will be paid in installments.
