The Belgian league was very close to not celebrating one of its new stars, Victor Boniface, because his transfer from Norway almost did not happen.
Top sources said the big striker almost failed a routine medical prior to signing for Belgian club Union St.Gilloise.
This is understandable because the former Flying Eagles star suffered two ACL injuries back-to-back while at top Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt.
However, Union were convinced about his quality and so did everything to sign him this past summer.
And as they say, the rest is now history – three goals in the league and as many goals in the UEFA Europa League as well.
