Nigeria’s most expensive defender Calvin Bassey tonight saw red on his official debut for Ajax as they fell 5-3 to PSV in the Dutch Super Cup.
Bassey, who cost Ajax over 26 Million Euros this summer transfer window, was handed a straight red card for a rash tackle in the 78th minute after he was introduced to the game in the 62nd minute.
The former Rangers defender was granted his work permit this week to allow him make his debut.
The new season in Holland will begin next weekend with champions Ajax away at Fortuna Sittard.
