SCORENIGERIA interview with coach Gbenga Ogunbote of Lobi Stars at the Governor Okowa pre-season tournament Asaba.
SCORENIGERIA: Coach, you recorded a slim victory over Cynosure FC, three points in the bag, what’s your assessment of the match?
OGUNBOTE: I think it was a very good one, starting very good, the most important thing is that when you are playing in a tournament, you win your first game, you’re close to qualification.
Coach looking at your recruitment on paper one is tempted to think Lobi Stars are good to go for the new NPFL season. Talking about what we have seen on the field of play, for example Raphael Anyangwa is back from the Norwegian league. What do you make of the array of stars you have at your disposal?
Well, we went for what we actually needed. Last season the team missed out on the chance to play on the continent and the first thing we wanted make sure of is that the team go back to Africa. We have actually gone for what will give us those results.
What is the particular target you’re setting for the team come next season?
Of course, for myself I want to finish good.
What’s your definition of good?
Simple. Good means winning laurels.
Thank you for your time coach.
You are welcome.
