Promotion to the Nigeria Premier League is only one step more for Sporting Lagos to become the best club in Africa, officials have told SCORENigeria
Sporting Lagos will feature in the forthcoming NPL season after they won promotion from the Southern Conference playoffs in Asaba this week behind Heartland.
Founded only in February 2022, they are owned by fintech billionaire and CEO of Paystack Shola Akinlade, 38, who also owns a majority holding in Danish club Aarhus Fremad.
A top official of the club told SCORENigeria: “The club proprietor wants to make Sporting Lagos the best club in Africa.
“He has very big dreams for the club and has already started building a befitting home ground for the team by the Atlantic Ocean.”
Further checks by SCORENigeria have revealed that salaries are paid without fail and the club are run professionally.
