Victor Osimhen has said fellow striker Odion Ighalo is a big brother to him and he is a welcome addition to the Super Eagles on their way to qualifying for next year’s World Cup and AFCON.
Officials said Ighalo, who has returned from a self-imposed retirement from international football, will finally join the rest of the squad in Morocco tomorrow.
“(His return) is good for the team, we welcome him with open arms, we are looking forward to having him in camp,” Osimhen said.
“He is like a big brother to me, I admire him and I have learnt a lot from him.
“It’s good to have him back in the squad.
“We all have the common goal to qualify the nation for the World Cup and do well at the AFCON.”
The Napoli striker said he is fully fit for the weekend clash against Liberia after a little injury scare at his Italian club.
“I feel good after the scan,” he said.
“I’m always ready to give my all for my country whenever I am called upon.
“I am ready for Saturday.”
