Victor Osimhen Sunday scored the fastest goal in the Belgian league after just nine seconds to break a six-year record set by compatriot Imoh Ezekiel, but it was not enough for Sporting Charleroi to qualify for Antwerp.
Antwerp won the Europa League final playoffs 3-2 and will now feature in the second-tier competition next season ahead of Osimhen’s club.
Osimhen finished with 20 goals in all competitions this past season on loan from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.
He is now expected to cash in on his haul of goals with a big-money move to a top European club even though Charleroi have the first option on signing him permanently.
