Asisat Oshoala and Barcelona Ladies will hope to win their first UEFA Women’s Champions League when they battle Chelsea tomorrow in the final in Gothenburg, Sweden.
This will be Oshoala’s second Champions League Final after they lost 4-1 in the 2019 Final with the Super Falcons skipper grabbing her team’s consolation goal.
The striker inspired the recently crowned Spanish champions to go past another English side Manchester City in the quarterfinal.
Oshoala has been prolific for Barcelona, scoring 47 goals in the last two seasons.
However, she remains an injury doubt for tomorrow’s Final after an ankle problem soon after foot surgery.
Barcelona have reached the UWCL quarterfinal in the past five seasons and will be favourites tomorrow as they are ranked No 2 by UEFA, while fellow finalists Chelsea are ranked a distant seventh.
They have dominated Spain, winning a record sixth championship Sunday with eight rounds of games still to be played and having all 26 games thus far.
