Nigeria U23 star Orji Okwonkwo netted his seventh goal for MLS side Montreal Impact in a thrilling 3-3 draw with FC Dallas.
Orji Okwonkwo, who is on loan from Serie A club Bologna, told SCORENigeria his goal will further lift his self-belief.
“I am glad I scored one of the goals of the match. It is good for my career and for my confidence as well,” he said.
“I have high hopes that we can finish the season in a good position as we are still in the top four on the log. I am very optimistic that we can finish in that manner.”
Okwonkwo recounted how Dallas fought back from three goals down to salvage a draw.
“We were actually three goals ahead, before our opponents FC Dallas leveled the scores. They equalised all three goals in the second half due to lack of concentration on our side,” he said.
“We thought it was done and dusted, but our opponents took full advantage of the gap in concentration and caught up with us.”
