Enyimba have petitioned the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after they were ordered to play a CAF Champions League preliminary round return leg match against Rahimo of Burkina Faso Sunday behind closed doors pending a final inspection of their home ground.
Eight-time Nigeria champions Enyimba lost their first leg in Burkina Faso 1-0.
Sunday’s match in Aba will kick off by 4pm local time and officials argued the game will not require the use of floodlights.
“There is a lot more to this decision,” a furious official told SCORENigeria
Last year, CAF fined Enyimba after CARA Brazzaville of Congo complained about poor floodlights at the renovated Enyimba International Stadium in Aba during their CAF Confederation Cup clash at the venue.
