Major League Soccer (MLS) side Montreal Impact are through to the quarterfinal of the CONCACAF Champions League thanks in part to Orji Okwonkwo’s goal at Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa.
The first leg in San Jose, Costa Rica, ended in a 2-2 draw with Okwonkwo scoring one of the away goals for Montreal Impact.
The return leg in Canada ended in a goalless draw meaning Montreal Impact, who are now coached by Thierry Henry, go through on the away goals rule.
In 2015, Montreal Impact reached the final of the Champions League.
Okwonkwo is on a second loan spell at Montreal Impact, who have an option to buy him permanently at season’s end.
