Orji Okwonkwo is on the cusp of adding another accolade to his trophy cabinet after his goal against Portland Timbers on June 26 was nominated for the Major League Soccer (MLS) Goal of the Year 2019.
Okwonkwo who played on loan at Montreal Impact from Italian Serie A club Bologna, has already scooped his club’s best player of the year.
His goal is contending with the likes of Carlos Vela’s goal for Los Angeles FC against San Jose, Nani’s goal for Orlando City FC against New England Revolution, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goal for LA Galaxy against Los Angeles FC and Wayne Rooney for DC United against Orlando City
