Henry Onyekuru won his second Istanbul Derby as Galatasaray pipped Fenerbache 1-0 today to go top of the table, but the home team must be happy with the performance of Bright Osayi-Samuel on the flanks.
It was the second straight season Galatasaray will win at Fenerbache and on both occasions Onyekuru was present.
Galatasaray are now top of the standings on a better goals difference after they were tied on the same 48 points with their bitter city rivals.
Onyekuru started for ‘Gala’ and was denied a goal by the bravery of the Fenerbache goalkeeper in the first half of this “Intercontinental Derby”.
Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was later introduced for Galatasaray to defend their goal as Fenerbache chased the game.
A big positive for Fenerbache though will be the sparkling performance of Osayi-Samuel, who signed for the Turkish giants from English Championship side QPR last month.
