Genk spokesman has revealed that even top officials of champions Club Brugge admitted Paul Onuachu deserved to have won the prestigious Golden Shoe awarded to the best player in Belgium for the past year.
Belgian league leading scorer Onuachu finished a distant third for the award.
Genk press manager Peter Morren said officials of Club Brugge told him that Onuachu deserved the top award.
“Our players have to be at least twice as good as the top club players to win the Golden Shoe,” said Morren.
He also complained Genk do not enjoy as much media coverage as the likes of Club Brugge and Anderlecht.
