Paul Onuachu made a serious case for himself in the Super Eagles with two goals in March and the Super Eagles Chief Scout described this as “refreshing”.
Onuachu has been banging the goals for Belgian club Genk, but struggled in front of goal for the Eagles before he again found his scoring range with the match winner in Benin and then another goal versus Lesotho to lift Nigeria to the AFCON in Cameroon.
Eagles Chief Scout Tunde Adelakun said it was great to see the big striker bring his club form to the national team.
“It’s also very refreshing that he was able to translate his club form to the national team in the last two games we played,” Adelakun told TVC.
“Paul is a hard worker, confident in himself and his ability, he shows it a lot in training even when he had the drought in the national team.
“We know what he has and it is great he has justified that.”
Onuachu has now scored three goals in 10 appearances for the Eagles.
