Paul Onuachu scored his 24th goal of the season for Genk to end a losing run of three games at Charleroi tonight.
The Genk giant striker, who scored nine goals last season, made up for an early miss when he tucked away a penalty after 17 minutes of action.
He will later be replaced in the 80th minute by fellow Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers as Genk will go on to win 2-1.
Onuachu will be expected to be called up by the Super Eagles for next month’s AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.
His Belgian club remain third on the table with 46 points from 29 matches.
