Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has turned down a chance to discuss his possible transfer away from the London club, insisting he is on national assignment at the Super Eagles camp and every other thing will have to wait.
This past season, Omeruo was outstanding for Leganes in La Liga on loan from Chelsea.
Speculations are now rife that the Spanish club are now willing to splash out to sign the experienced central defender on a permanent basis.
But Omeruo said his focus is the forthcoming AFCON in Egypt with the Super Eagles.
“It is time for national assignment now, not any talks on my club future,” Omeruo told reporters at the Eagles training camp in Asaba.
“I am not aware pertaining to Chelsea negotiating with Leganes for my transfer.
“My agent did not tell me anything of that nature.”
Omeruo has played severally on loan from Chelsea since he joined them in 2012.
He is set for his second AFCON in Egypt after he was crowned African champion on his debut tournament in 2013.
