Olamilekan Adams today announced himself as the striker the Flying Eagles desperately need when he delivered an outstanding display in a 6-0 rout of NNL side Deluxe of Jos.
Remo Stars winger Adams was Man of the Match and the tactical masterstroke by coach Ladan Bosso after he produced a classic centre-forward performance with a goal, two assists, power, speed, guile and great hold-up play.
And on the evidence of this superb display, he will now be the man to lead the Flying Eagles strike force at the U20 AFCON in Egypt.
After a scoreless first half, the rampant goals machine of the Flying Eagles kicked into top gear when skipper Ibrahim Yahaya broke the deadlock with a low shot in the 47th minute.
Three minutes later, winger Haliru Sarki, arguably the team’s most improved player, doubled the advantage.
Adams was rewarded for his superb performance in the 58th minute to make it 3-0 in favour of the Flying Eagles.
Saki completed his brace a minute later.
Plateau United forward Emmanuel Uchegbu followed up with his own brace after he was introduced to the fray.
