David Okereke failed to shine, but his Belgian team Club Brugge still managed to reach the playoff rounds of the UEFA Champions League at the expense of Dynamo Kiev.
Okereke, who has scored four goals in three league appearances, was expected to extend such form at Kiev Tuesday night, but he instead disappointed.
The Nigeria U23 forward was booked in the 79th minute and two minutes later was replaced as he struggled against a well-organised Dynamo Kiev defence.
Dynamo Kiev had raced ahead 2-0 in Ukraine in the return leg only for the Belgians to fight back and eventually draw 3-3 to go through 4-3 on aggregate after they won the home game 1-0 a week ago.
Club Brugge and Okereke could now reach the money-spinning group stage of the Champions League if they go past LASK Linz from Austria in the playoffs.
