A top official of the Flying Eagles has told SCORENigeria AC Milan starlet Victor Eletu is fit for Saturday’s showdown against Brazil as he only suffered cramps against Italy.
Midfielder Eletu, 18, was stretchered off in the 66th minute after what appeared to be a leg injury.
“The player only suffered cramps and it was decided not to take any chances on that,” the official informed SCORENigeria
Further reports said he was not limping after Wednesday night’s match against Italy.
Eletu posted a good performance to justify his first start for the Flying Eagles after his late arrival in Argentina meant he only got to play a cameo role in the opening game against the Dominican Republic.
Nigeria will need just a point to win the U20 World Cup Group D and that way get an easier Round of 16 fixture against the third best losers in Groups B (possibly Ecuador), E (possibly Tunisia) or F (possibly Honduras) instead of finishing as group runners-up to battle Group E winners (possibly Uruguay).
