Obafemi Martins club Wuhan Zull will again play in the Chinese Super League next season after they narrowly escaped relegation in a tightly-fought playoff.
Wuhan, who are based in the original epicenter of the Coronavirus Pandemic, edged past Zhejiang Energy Greentown to stay put in the Chinese top league.
They won the return leg relegation playoff 1-0 at home Sunday after the first leg had finished 2-2.
It was a Great Escape for the team, who in March were quarantined for 104 days in Southern China on return from a training tour of Spain.
Martins joined the club after his contract with Shanghai Shensua was terminated.
