Alex Jimenez described him as ‘Don Kelechi Nwakali’.
Nwakali curled a beauty of a free kick to give Alcorcon the lead against fellow strugglers CD Castellon.
The midfielder played the entire game to record 75% passing accuracy, completed five dribbles and won 10 duels.
Alcorcon won this relegation battle 2-0 and are now just a point to safety with eight rounds of matches still to be played.
Nwakali is on loan from La Liga outfit Huesca.
