Anthony Nwakaeme, 32, has opened up on his selection as the new captain of Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor as well as getting a new contract from the top Ankara-based team.
Nwakaeme said he hopes to give his best as the new Trabzonspor captain leading into the new season in Turkey.
“I will try to do it in the best way possible,” said the forward, who has now spent three years at Trabzonspor following his arrival in 2018 from Israel.
“You will also see me in my familiar positions in the new season. I am a player who is happy in any position I play.”
The experienced forward has also said he is looking forward to a new contract from the club as he has a year left on his current deal.
“Whenever our officials want to talk to me about a contract, I will be ready. I am happy to be in Turkey and Trabzonspor,” he said.
Last season, Nwakaeme scored seven goals and provided as many assists in 34 matches to help Trabzonspor finish fourth and as a result will feature in the newly-introduced UEFA Conference League.
He has a transfer market value of five Million Euros.
