Stanley Nwabali will keep his place in the Super Eagles goal just as Raphael Onyedika shone like a million stars in the team’s last training leading to tonight’s showdown against Mali.
South Africa-based shot stopper Nwabali was one of the main reasons Nigeria edged past arch-rivals Ghana in a first friendly last weekend as he pulled off at least three big saves.
Club Brugge midfielder Onyedika has also caught the eye in the team’s final training before tonight’s clash against Les Aigles of Mali.
He did not enjoy game time at the recent AFCON as Frank Onyeka was the preferred choice of then Eagles coach Jose Peseiro as the holding midfielder.
Caretaker coach Finidi George has hinted on ringing changes to his starting XI for tonight’s friendly, but it will not be wholesale changes as he wants to win his second game in charge of the team.
SCORENigeria learnt that he will only announce his starting team just hours to the 9pm kick-off.
