South Africa goalkeeper and captain Ronwen Williams has revealed that his Super Eagles colleague Stanley Nwabali has told him he inspires him.
Nwabali plays for South African club Chippa United and both goalkeepers have recorded 25 clean sheets for club and country this season.
“When we played in Port Elizabeth (v Chippa United), he told me that I inspire him,” Williams said.
“He has been amazing this season.
“I am so happy the way he’s playing and now we share the same stage together.
“But I hope for this game (AFCON semis today), he concedes so that that we can go to the final.”
Williams also praised the defence as “rock-sold” after they have protected him at the AFCON for him to only let in two goals thus far.
