Super Eagles top scout Tunde Adelakun has assured that players from the domestic league will get a better chance in the national team going forward.
Critics have knocked coach Gernot Rohr for overlooking players from the local league in the past four years amid orders by both the NFF and sports minister that these players now be integrated to the Eagles.
“We have top quality in the NPFL, but what we probably lack is the infrastructure for the boys to reach their full potential,” Adelakun said on a television interview.
“We hope to do bit more with these players going forward.
“But we have not ignored NPFL players, rather we have done a bit for the NPFL.
“I watch the league and Rohr has assistants as well like Salisu Yusuf, Imama Amapakabo and Alloy Agu to guide us (on players from the NPFL).
“(Joseph) Yobo’s exposure and knowing the players’ mentality will also be of great value.”
