Rivers United left winger Ishaq Kayode aka ‘Yoruba Ronaldo’ is the NPFL Player of Week 3 for his match winner and captivating individual brilliance.
He has truly taken the NPFL by storm this season after he netted his fourth goal for Rivers United to upstage home team Enyimba.
It was a super strike from 15 yards.
The Offa-born youngster showed he means business when he scored his team’s first goal in a 1-1 draw at Lobi Stars on the opening day of the season.
He then followed that up with a brace and an assist against Katsina United, before his match winner at Enyimba Wednesday.
Kayode is fast, has a good shot and knows his way to goal and he has already attracted interest from overseas.
Rivers United coach Fatai Osho said he has the potential to be capped by Nigeria.
“He’s potential national team player. He is a young player who is coming up, tactically disciplined with a lot of talent,” Osho remarked.
