The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has received a massive boost after it signed a five-year contract with pay television company Startimes worth over five Billion Naira.
“It is a five-year deal worth 5.03 Billion Naira with Startimes and potentially witnesses a 50 Million Naira annually,” announced NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye.
NFF president Ibrahim Gusau also attended the contract signing with Chinese-owned Startimes in Abuja.
NPFL matches will now be shown live on television after a blackout of about seven years.
Two matches will be broadcast live from this month and by February 2024, there will be four games a week for the next two years, officials said.
