Norwich City U21 striker Kenny Coker has staked a strong claim for a place on the Flying Eagles final squad to the U20 AFCON with his goal for the team.
The Flying Eagles cruised past the academy owned by FC Nantes star Moses Simon 6-1 with Coker grabbing the opening goal.
Coker, 19, is a big, direct-playing centre-forward who coach Ladan Bosso specially called up for the U20 AFCON as he improves his squad for the trip next month to Egypt.
He is the son of UK-based agent Michael Coker of the Stellar Group.
He made his first-team debut for Southend United at the tender age of 16 and signed a pro deal with Norwich City in May 2021.
Haliru Sarki netted a brace with Jude Sunday and skipper Ibrahim Yahaya again on the scoresheet against Simoiben Academy.
Shettima Umar also weighed in with a goal as the Flying Eagles were reduced to 10 men after midfielder Samson Lawal was sent off.
The Flying Eagles will intensify their preparations for the U20 AFCON tomorrow with another test game against NNL side EFCC FC of Abuja.
