SCORENigeria can exclusively report that newly-appointed Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will land in Nigeria Sunday accompanied by three of his trusted assistants.
His assistants were with him when he headed the Mali national team as well as with his most recent appointment at the top Algerian club MC Oran.
Chelle, 47, has been handed the onerous task of qualifying Nigeria to the 2026 World Cup after a rather difficult start in the qualifying campaign.
Nigeria are second from bottom of their qualifying group with three points from four matches, four points adrift of front runners Rwanda, South Africa and Benin.
According to NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau, he will also head the technical crew of the CHAN Eagles for next month’s CHAN in East Africa.
The new coach will therefore hit the ground running by joining the CHAN Eagles in training camp in Ikenne immediately after completing his contract signing formalities.
