The new coach of Atlanta, Ivan Juric, has spoken to Eco di Bergamo, on Ademola Lookman, who is currently on a transfer standoff with the Italian club.
Former Southampton coach Juric appeared resigned to the fact that the Super Eagles forward will not play again for Atalanta, while admitting his new club would have to sign new players to strengthen themselves in his absence.
“We’ve lost players who produced 80-90% of our goals, and it won’t be easy to replace them,” he lamented.
“I don’t think anyone can arrive who can match Retegui or Lookman’s performances in one fell swoop, but we need to strengthen ourselves intelligently and expand our options.
“Those who are already here can grow and get closer to that level.”
