The new president of the Algeria football federation (FAF) Walid Sadi wishes to announce his arrival by appointing a new coach for the country this week.
According to L’Equipe, the choice is between Jose Peseiro, whose contract with Nigeria has ended, and the Swiss Vladimir Petkovic.
The contract of Djamel Belmadi has not yet been terminated, but the new FAF boss has been busy chasing his replacement, from Zinedine Zidane, Carlos Queiroz, Herve Renard to Hugo Broos.
Peseiro has received an offer from Algeria, so also Petkovic.
Sadi is working on a decision this week because next month Algeria will stage an invitational tournament sanctioned by FIFA.
The new international tournament will also have South Africa, Bolivia and Andorra.
It will be played between March 18 and 26.
