The transfer saga involving Victor Osimhen will drag on after Napoli rejected a third bid by Galatasaray to sign the striker with the player’s camp also accusing the Italian champions of deliberately pushing Osimhen to sign for Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, who has closely followed this transfer saga, has given the latest update on the standoff between Napoli and Osimhen.
In his X post, Laba reported that Napoli for turned down a third offer by Galatasaray to pay the 75 Million Euros release clause for Osimhen.
This may well be as a result of the payment terms proposed by Galatasaray of several installments spread over years as Napoli would prefer the money is paid within a short time.
Also, Top Transfer Experts Gianluca Di Marzio and Nicolo Schira, reported that Napoli have demanded bank guarantees from Galatasaray for this transaction to go through.
Buchi Laba further claimed that Napoli are frustrating Galatasaray because they prefer the bid tabled by Al Hilal, who are willing to pay the entire 75 Million Euros at a go and which suits the Italian club’s budgetary needs.
“They’re frustrating the deal intentionally and want to push him to Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal),” Laba accused.
“Victor Osimhen has made it very clear that going to Al Hilal is not possible. He only wants Galatasaray.”
A close friend of Osimhen, Gokhan Inler, also confirmed the player only set on Galatasaray and not considering any other team.
Osimhen himself has posted on social media a video of he and his daughter doing the famous Galatasaray chant to underline where his heart is.
This standoff is now expected to persist because the journalist also said Osimhen does not wish to play again for Napoli even though he has a contract with them until June 2026.
According to Laba, Osimhen will not report to Napoli pre-season training camp when it opens Tuesday, July 15.
“He also made it very clear to Napoli that he won’t report for pre-season and doesn’t want to play for Napoli anymore,” he reported on X
It must also be noted that the 75 Million Euros release clause on Osimhen will expire same day Tuesday and thereafter it will be left for Napoli to decide how much they will receive as transfer fee for the striker.
