Napoli owner’s comments on a new contract and transfer concerning Victor Osimhen have angered both the striker and his agent.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis said he was disappointed that Osimhen and his entourage may have backed out on a gentleman’s agreement over extending his contract.
“If things change after a handshake, it’s disappointing, we take note of it but then life goes on,” De Laurentiis said.
According to Il Mattino, both Osimhen and his agent, Robert Calenda, are in a rage over this comment.
It is the latest chapter in the drama concerning the future of the Super Eagles striker at the Serie A champions.
The Napoli owner has long been upbeat Osimhen, 24, will sign a new contract, but recent events at the club appear to have cast uncertainties about the player’s future at the club.
His current deal with Napoli will run out June 2025.
