Napoli are expected to officially announce the transfer of Victor Osimhen, reported to be at least 80 million Euros, this weekend, according to L’Equipe.
The French publication said that negotiations between Lille and Napoli went on all through Friday and the Italian could now most likely make the transfer official in the coming days.
However, Osimhen has yet to undergo the routine medical at the Serie A club.
Most observers had earlier suggested this announcement will be on Thursday.
However, the drama surrounding the Lille striker’s transfer has had more twists and turns so much so that at some point both the player and then Napoli have called it off.
Osimhen’s new agent, William D’Avilla, was even rumoured to have sounded out Premier League clubs like Liverpool on the player.
And that he demanded for a higher commission than the striker’s sacked agent.
The striker is set to sign a five-year contract that will pay him at least 4 million Euros (more than 2 billion Naira).
A top Lille official described this as an “exceptional opportunity” for Osimhen and his family.
