The National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF) having been convinced beyond reasonable doubt that multi-national PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) may be aiding corruption at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has instructed its lawyers to file an action against the audit firm.

The NANF has noted with very serious concern the purported “clean bill of health” always handed down annually by PWC to the NFF inspite of the massive fraud that has engulfed the NFF, damning evidence of which are in the public domain.

NANF president Harrison Jalla said the players’ union will challenge PWC’s integrity and professional competence concerning its auditing of NFF books over the years.

“As representatives of Nigeria Footballers current and retired we are constrained to see money meant for football Development in Nigeria being diverted into private pockets and same people being given clean bill of health annually,” he stated.

“We suspect a collusion between top officials of the NFF and PWC and we have given our lawyers the mandate to unravel it.

“The NANF is curious because the NFF through its REMITA Accounts paid on October 21st 2019 the sum of 10.5m Naira to PWC, in November 22nd 2019 the NFF paid 3.3m Naira to PWC, and Same 22nd November 2019 the  NFF paid 10.5m Naira to PWC.

“This is apart from over 4m Naira at 15,000 Naira per person per day purportedly paid the staff  of PWC as feeding allowance for about four months during their auditing job.”

Jalla added: “As we speak, there was no financial report of the NFF for presentation at the last AGA in Benin City, Edo State, and to crown it all there have been no audit opinion from PWC since it was contracted in 2014.”
