Former Nigeria youth international Moses Orkuma has told SCORENigeria his team US Monastir are good enough to contend for the Tunisian league crown with mighty Esperance and Etoile du Sahel.
The midfielder said they will therefore take every game as a cup final so as to make their dream of being crowned champions of Tunisia a reality.
The full interview:
SCORENIGERIA: Your club US Monastir are doing well currently and top the league, what’s the secret?
ORKUMA: We work together as a team and there is no special player in the team, all the players are equal and we work together for the club.
Do you see your team beating Esperance, Etoile du Sahel to the league title this season?
It’s still a long way, but we are good enough to be champions at the end of the season. We will see what happens at the end, but at the moment we take every game as a cup final.
How is it like to have a fellow Nigerian Anthony Okpotu as your teammate?
It’s cool, good experience and I feel at home having him around me here.
How will you rate Tunisian league?
It is a very tough and strong league. No small team, all the teams can give you a good fight and get favorable results no matter the venue of the game.
You played In the Nigerian league before you left for Libya then Tunisia, what are the differences between Tunisian and Nigerian leagues?
There are many differences. They are wide apart. The intensity of the games, the players welfare, fans understanding of the game, the training facilities and good pitches are what we have here in Tunisia, but we lack them back home.
You have scored a goal this season, do you target more?
My top priority is to contribute my quota to help my club win games, getting more goals will be great, but winning games with my clubs is far more important.
Thank you for your time.
You are welcome.
