Terem Moffi will join the Super Eagles in Portugal this week for friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique as his injury while playing for Ligue 1 club Nice is “nothing serious”.
The striker, who has netted three goals in Ligue 1 this season, was forced out by injury in the 67th minute from Saturday’s 1-0 win at Metz.
However, a source close to the 24-year-old striker told SCORENigeria that injury will not keep him out of tune-up games for next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
“The injury is nothing serious,” the source said.
“A defender’s knee caught him on his backside, but he will be good for the matches in Portugal as he was only taken out as a precaution.”
Moffi has been recalled to the Super Eagles after he was overlooked for last month’s 2023 AFCON qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe in Uyo.
He last featured for the Super Eagles in March in a 1-0 win over Guinea Bissau in a 2023 AFCON qualifier.
