Michael Omoh has admitted he has been left frustrated after his flying start in Romania was halted by the outbreak of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Omoh netted twice in six games for new club FC Politechnica before Romania went into lockdown because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
“I started well in Romania and scored two goals in six games. I was fit, played a lot and did well. Therefore, it was a bit sad that the league was stopped, but what can you do?,” he said.
“The virus has affected a lot, from the economy to the football.
“The whole world is in the same boat. I can’t think of myself and my form. That would make me selfish. I can only focus on maintaining form.”
The experienced Nigerian also recounted his many years in Sweden, where he featured for the likes of Ostersunds FK, Orebro, Dalkurd and Mjjalby.
Omoh singled out Brighton manager Graham Potter for making him feel most welcomed in Sweden.
“We went up from the Superettan to Allsvenskan. There we were trained by Graham Potter, who did great things at ÖFK,” he acknowledged.
“He is the best coach I have worked with. The fact that Östersund took Graham to the club laid the foundation for the success.
“He thought “outside the box” and was not like the usual Swedish coach.
“He saw the players for what they are. He took “underdogs” and got the best out of them, players like myself, like Saman, like Sema, like several others.
“The way he wants to play football is different and at the same time we had Daniel Kindberg in the background.”
