Ike Ugbo, the match winner for Cardiff City in a 2-1 win at Preston North End, said he is delighted with the win on the road and praised his team for a great performance.
Ugbo was introduced in the 73rd minute and scored the winner in the stoppage time with a powerful header
“It was a great win,” saluted Ike Ugbo.
“I think it was a great team performance; coming away to Preston, it’s a tough place to come to. But I think we did well as a team, and I’m happy to get the winner.
“We kept going, we showed the drive and the confidence in the team, and we just kept doing what we’re good at.
“Sometimes, that happens – you don’t get many touches, but you get that one chance, and you have to finish it off. It was a great ball from Wints, and I’m happy we got the win.”
He also praised the traveling fans for their support throughout the game.
“I can imagine [they’ll be pleased], because the coach journey on the way up here was really long! So I’m really happy for the fans, and for the team,” he said.
“I think now we can push on and try to get a nice run, and get some points on the board.”
