Leon Balogun has expressed his excitement after he extended his contract with Scottish giants Rangers for a year.
His previous contract has run out.
“I am very, very happy and privileged to be able to extend my contract at a club like Rangers,” the experienced defender commented.
“I have said in the past I wish I could’ve been here sooner in my career because it fuels the fire to succeed all the time.
“I want to win more trophies here and win more titles. As a player, you want to make sure you are part of the history of this club because there are not many places in the world where there is a greater honour or a greater privilege.”
This past season, he won the Scottish League Cup with the Glasgow club.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement was equally pleased.
“I am delighted Leon has signed a contract extension with the club to remain as a crucial part of our squad next season,’ he remarked.
“In my time here so far, I have witnessed first-hand the impact he has not only on the pitch but off the pitch too with his valuable experience.
“He is a talented defender, who brings a lot of qualities to the group, and I look forward to continuing to work with him next season.”
