Rasheedat Ajibade has said she believes the Super Falcons can upset European champions England to extend the run of shock results at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Mighty Germany, Olympic champions Canada and Brazil failed to go past the first round, while African flag bearers Nigeria, Morocco and South Africa made it to the knockout stage.
“We have seen so many surprises at this World Cup, I respect England, but I so much believe in my team,” declared Atletico Madrid striker Ajibade.
“It’s not about the name or the players, it’s about the team.
“We have got enough quality and talent on my team and so we will focus on what we can do as a team and not what England will do.”
The Super Falcons are unbeaten at this World Cup after a historic 3-2 win over co-hosts Australia and draws with Olympic champions Canada and Republic of Ireland.
However, on the FIFA Rankings they are 36 places behind fourth-ranked England, who have won all three group games leading up to tomorrow’s knockout clash against the nine-time African champions.
