Tolu Arokodare, who again came to the rescue of Genk at Antwerp, has admitted his club could even have lost at Antwerp instead of the draw they secured in a Belgian Championship playoff.
The Super Eagles striker scored a late equaliser for Genk to draw 1-1 with home team Antwerp.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a good result, but it’s not a bad result either,” he said after the game on DAZN.
“It could have been worse if they had converted that penalty.”
Antwerp missed a penalty, which was saved by the Genk goalkeeper.
The striker said his team now have to look ahead quickly after a difficult start to the Championship Play-offs and can afford few new missteps in the title race.
“The result is what it is. The focus now has to be completely on Sunday, because then a new match awaits,” he saidArokodare said he was not surprised by Antwerp’s fiery start.
“It’s normal that they start so fiercely. They play at home, with fans who support them from start to finish.”
According to him, Genk came into the match well after the difficult opening phase, but failed to make the difference.
The striker also pointed to his own role in the team. “I’ve been all alone up front all season. That’s just the way we play,” he said.
