Striker Daryl Dike will be sidelined for between six and nine months after he underwent surgery for a raptured Achilles Tendon, according to English Championship club West Bromwich Albion.
The 22-year-old Dike was injured during West Brom’s 2-1 win at Stoke in the Championship on Saturday.
Dike missed last year’s World Cup because of injury.
It was the same injury that knocked out older brother Bright Dike from the Super Eagles 2014 World Cup squad.
The big striker has missed 30 games in two seasons through injury.
