The CHAN Eagles may have held Ghana to a scoreless in Accra in a 2024 CHAN playoff, but the Ghanaians will give everything in Nigeria to qualify, former Super Eagles star Victor Ikpeba has warned.
Nigeria will welcome the Black Galaxies to Uyo Saturday by 5pm with the overall winners of this tie advancing to the 2024 CHAN in February.
“The CHAN Eagles must fight because this is one game that Ghana do not want to lose,” Ikpeba said on SuperSport TV programme Monday Night Football
“We all remember what happened with the Super Eagles with the same Ghana for the 2022 World Cup.”
The former international said that qualification to the 2024 CHAN will be a major boost for the NPFL and the home-based players.
“This is a big chance for the league and home-based players to show what they are capable of,” he said.
“Many of us have had our reservations about the players in the NPFL particularly going by their performance on the continent.”
