SCORENigeria can again reveal that Kelechi Iheanacho has been left shattered by the decision to leave him out of the Super Eagles squad to the AFCON in Egypt.
“He is devastated,” a source at the Eagles training camp in Asaba told only SCORENigeria
“He felt he had done enough in training this week to at least make it to Egypt, but it was not to be.”
SCORENigeria also gathered that some of the players who were first to comfort him after the decision to drop him was known were players who also missed the cut to last year’s World Cup in Russia.

“They shared their own experiences with him, what it felt like to be left out, while also encouraging him to keep fighting, that he will bounce back just as they did.”
Iheanacho, 22, managed only a goal in 30 league appearances mostly as a substitute at Leicester City.
He has yet to justify the reported 25 million pounds ‘The Foxes’ splashed to sign him from Manchester City in August 2017.
His problems have been further compounded by the fact that he has up against Jamie Vardy, a cult hero at Leicester City after his heroics won them an unlikely Premier League crown three seasons ago.
Victor Osimhen, who was top scorer at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup two years after Iheanacho shone at the same stage, was considered ahead of the Leicester City striker.
