Ifeanyi Matthew is set to return to Norwegian club Lillestrom after Osmanlispor failed to gain promotion to the Turkish top league.
Matthew played on loan at Osmanlispor from January with the option for the ambitious Turkish club to buy him permanently at the end of the loan spell.
In the promotion playoffs semi-final, Ankara-based Osmanlispor overturned a 2-0 loss at Gazisehir Gaziantep, but lost 9-8 on penalties with Ifeanyi Matthew netting his own spot kick to make it 8-8.
However, the failure of the team to return to the top flight may now put a spanner in a permanent transfer for the former Kano Pillars and El Kanemi Warriors midfielder.
Matthew still has a year left on his contract with Lillestrom.
